Pediatrics

Practitioner Lisa Tighue graduated first in her class from Mercer Medical Center School of Nursing in Trenton, New Jersey. While pursuing her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University, she worked full-time in the cardiac care unit.

After receiving her BSN degree, she took on a pivotal role in the opening of the Bone Marrow Transplant unit at TJU Hospital. Following the birth of her two children, pediatric oncology became her focus and she accepted a position in pediatric oncology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2001. Ms. Tighue's career at CHOP includes extensive nursing in hematology, sickle cell disease, and pediatric intensive care. Through an integrated program at CHOP that allowed in-patient nurses to experience the outpatient world, her passion for providing high-quality primary care began. It was while working under the direction of Dr. Kathleen Zsolway, DO, and Dr. Stephen Ludwig, MD, at the Faculty Practice at CHOP in primary care as an RN that she pursued her master's degree in pediatric nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. She studied to be a pediatric nurse practitioner while continuing to work in primary care at CHOP.

Ms. Tighue is a certified asthmatic educator and a breast-feeding resource nurse. She received her certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and joined Advocare at Moorestown Pediatrics in January 2014.
